Plans!!!.....

Well very little hobby time for me at the moment, work has been really busy but the light at the end of the tunnel is that I am off for a week, finish at twelve today and that's me until the 1st of July.  Bit of gardening to do but should have a bit of time to get some paint slapped on some figures.

So what has been happening?  The peninsular project continues, I will try and get some photos of the buildings I purchased recently posted next week, the French have three units in their ranks and the British two plus two cavalry regiments, infantry and heavy dragoons on the painting table, so going nicely.  A couple of side project received a boost thanks to a sale at Colonel Bill's and my old friend ebay!

From the good Colonel I purchased a painted Swedish infantry regiment on the charge, I also got some painted Dragoons skirmishing and a painted Perthshire militia regiment for my British Civil Wars project.  These are painted to a good tabletop standard and nicely based so I am very happy with them, and the service from the Colonel is second to none, good communication and very quick delivery, great stuff all round!

The ebay goodies were as the painted ones all Warfare Miniatures, one of my favourite ranges, and I got them from fellow blogger Meic who does Command Base blog.  I had noticed a good few blisters of Warfare on ebay so put a watch on them all, got a message from Meic who offered discount on them all, no brainer, the whole lot were purchased! Quick delivery and very well packaged another sweet deal from an all round good bloke! The lot comprised of twenty four Swedish cavalry for my GNW project, four battalion packs, a gun crew and mounted and dismounted dragoons. One of the blisters plus the gun crew will be going to be done as Saxons for my GNW project the rest to the British Civil War project, probably painted up a militia unit, Kirke's and who knows what regiment!

So not a lot done but plenty achieved so am a pretty happy chappy and with a week of gardening and hobby time coming up I am a very happy chappy!

More goodies!......

More goodies arrived for my ongoing Peninsular project, some Hussars from Ian Hinds arrived very quickly and I will touch up any paintwork that needs it tomorrow.  I also bought a pack of trees, just three in the pack and a terrain base for them to add to my scenery, they arrived very quickly and look the part, happy with them.

All the resin building I purchased recently have arrived and they are even better in the flesh than they looked online and they looked great from the pictures on ebay, they really are quite superb and I am chuffed with them, they will make a nice little village, small church, three houses and a tower, they will look great.

The last purchase for this week was a 6x4 gaming mat, the mouse mat type, and it looks the part.

I was just having a look at Wayland Games, not a site I use a lot, too much fantasy based, but they do have bits and pieces that are worth a look at and this was one, ordered on Monday arrived on Thursday and it is just what I was looking for, will do for the Peninsular project and also my First Carlist War one which is over half completed. It's a hefty piece of kit and will get a fair bit of use I hope!

Work this Saturday means limited time for hobbies but the forecast is poor for this weekend so not much time will be spent in the garden bar a bit of watering in the polytunnel which will leave a bit of time on Sunday to crack on with the Hussars and get a bit more paint splashed on the first infantry unit.

So until next time.....

Peninsular update.....

Well after a quiet couple of weeks on the wargaming front, this weekend has been a bit more busy.  My order from Elite Miniatures arrived on Thursday and so the first line unit is on the table and primed and the first bit of colour added.  Also on the table is a squadron of heavy dragoons, there is 24 of them altogether so I am splitting them up into four groups as I doubt I would ever paint 24 cavalry on their own by splitting them up into their squadrons I think it will work better for me.

The next part of the project has been the purchase of some real estate.

I got this house plus a tower and another three houses on ebay, resin and already painted, win win for me!  And then I got this church to add to my village. It's MDF and assembled and painted.

This little lot set me back a bit but they are all painted and all look pretty decent so I am very happy with them as it would take me an age to paint them myself.  My next problem is around the basing conundrum, do I leave them and not base them, do I base them individually or base the whole lot as a set village, a bit to think about there.

Anyway the project moves forward and I am happy with the progress made, so until next time.....

The buying frenzy continues....

Well the work continues on the ECW project although nothing done this weekend, busy with other things.  I did purchase another Summerfield ...
